here in america, we have a tradition to set aside one day to be especially grateful.
that day is today.
the psychological benifits of being grateful is well known and promoted by business experts, healthcare professionals, secularists, believers ... you name it.
Thankful for my husband and non-JW family.
Thankful for the memories we get to create without pressure to be anything other than what we are.
Thankful for my job - I work with some really great people, love what I do, and get paid well. The day before Thanksgiving I got messages from some of my peers saying how thankful they were for me to be working on some projects with them.
Thankful for all of the things I just bought on Black Friday Sales đ.
Thankful for all my Thanksgiving leftovers.

Itâs not a pension based their rank. It is disability which is not rank based. VA disability is awarded in percentages 10%-100%.
Disability is something completely different from a military pension. The one that I saw the VA statement for was not a rank of Major and it clearly said it was disability payments.
Back then I worked for an accounting firm that did taxes and the âbrotherâ gave it to us as part of his tax paperwork although itâs not required because it doesnât count for taxes. He is the one that told me about the others receiving benefits. He said the one elder told him how to navigate the VA system to be approved.

If I had to guess I would think AM is getting a disability check from the VA. I know several âbrothersâ who served in Vietnam who were awarded a 100% disability that equates to $3000-$3500 a month tax free and free healthcare. The VA thought they were all nuts so the disability was for mental impairment, but they functioned normally with no outward disability.

Yes!!! This worked for me.I lost 50 lbs and have kept it off for 4 years. I feel so much better - I did Keto - but had vegetables and berries every day. As long as I stay away from bread and sugar I do not have cravings and can maintain my weight even after menopause. Iâve learned to make keto versions of my favorite foods and enjoy experimenting with almond and coconut flour recipes.

one of the things learned as a jw is that there isn't anything true about xmas being the birth of jesus.
( matt chapter 2 tells a whole different narrative about the baby jesus than what is portrayed by the christian churches) they learn the ways that are celebrated are pagan practices jesus told the samaritan woman that god wanted to be worshipped in spirit and it truth.
I donât celebrate Christmas as Christâs birthday. I celebrate secularly because itâs fun to see my nieces/nephews children enjoy all of the fun of the season. I love to see their eyes light up when you are able to get them something they are dreaming of.
I love them all so much - I donât care what they celebrate. If itâs important to them itâs important to me. If they said they are celebrating Christmas,Hanukkah or The Flying Spaghetti Monster - My answer would be when/where/ and how do we throw this party. For me it doesnât have to be some big theological debate - itâs fun so I do it.

we were taught that our purpose in life was to serve jehovah.
that never really made sense to me, but it was still a purpose to keep going.
When I first left I tried a little bit of everything. I volunteered at an animal shelter - I found purpose in caring for the animals. I still do work with my local shelters. I tried sports leagues - softball, volleyball, bowling. It got me out and I met many nice people that way. I went to college and love my job.
Eventually I settled in, this life might be all there is - so I try to enjoy every bit that I can. Youâll find your way - in the meantime enjoy the ride.
